Tips for removing a stain on carpet?

Last night my husband spilled crystal light grape drink on our light beige carpet. We blotted up the liquid with towels and then used water but there is still a stain. Any ideas how to remove it?

I went to a carpet cleaning convention and they said to lay a white towel over the stain. Have the towel a little moist. Then go over the towel with an iron. The heat will help bring the stain into the towel.
I have never tried it myself. But that’s what we were told.

Club soda, it works wonders, tell your hubby to lighten up on the crystal light. LOL! Seriously, club soda. If that doesn’t work, use Capture Carpet Cleaning Products.

If it happens again you could also try having a disposable nappy (daiper) handy just for this eventuality. They are so super absorbant that they soak almost evrything up really quickly.

    Useless for the planet though…..

hydrogen peroxide is a natural enzyme…. it will take up the stain (also removes blood & wine stains)

The best thing I have found for my carpets is called "Folex" We have a cream colored carpet and two boys ages 3 and 6… folex works wonders and can be found at Safeway or Frys… also it is so cheap!! Under 5 bucks for a large bottle. Try it and see! I haven’t gotten juice, blood, grease and many other old stubborn set in stains so i am certain it will work for you.

Go to http://rugrag.com/StainRemoval.aspx and select one of the food coloring dyes or select juice. I think you’ll have really good luck with this procedure, I can’t tell you how many crazy things it’s helped us with. DON’T purchase the all in one cleaners, they’re really created to blanket as many stains as possible. if you want the best results, use the stain tool above, it’s custom tailored to your specific stain. Its really intended for even the finest of Persian rugs, but I use this on our wall to wall carpeting downstairs too. Simply fantastic

I HAVE YOUR ANSWER! A few years ago we lived in Ca and my 2 year old dumped 5 packets worth of RED crystal light all over our carpet (and some of the stains got wet). I tried everything to get it out. I had a carpet cleaning company out and they used some chemical, with a wet towel and a regular iron to use steam heat to remove it (with combo of chemical). Everything came out! I wrote the name of the chemical down but then I lost it (keep reading). Last year, our babysitter spilled a whole cup of crystal light on our beige carpet. I used several store cleaners with no luck, so I called a carpet company. They tried to get it up, but to no avail. They told me if they couldn’t get it up, nothing would. They told me to give up (2 different companies!). I asked them about the iron thing I saw the company in Ca do (we live in Virginia now) and they looked at me with blank looks and said they had no idea what it would be, and regardless, it wouldn’t get it up since what they had just done didn’t work. Again, they told me to give up. A few weeks ago I finally found the name of the chemical. It was "Red Relief." I ordered it and followed the instructions and my stain was out in 30 seconds. All of it. No hints or traces of red left. Here is the website. It is really for carpet cleaning companies, but I was able to purchase it as an individual. People also sell it on Ebay (but don’t let them tell you it’s not a ‘heat transfer product.’ It absolutely is.). Be sure to enter "Red Relief" in the search box on the website. They have the regular kind, plus a kind for wool. http://www.baneclene.com/catalog/catalogframe.html

And I DO NOT work for these people (you always have to be suspicious of that in these answers).
