Wax/oil/stain pine window sills…which is best?

After sanding an old pine window sill, I was able to stain it to closely match the surrounding pine trim, but the "sheen" doesn’t quite match. What can I do to add a VERY VERY slight semi gloss finish to it? Varnish would be way too shiny. Is there a clear oil or wax you can recommend? Or should I have used a different type of stain? Thx.
another thing to consider besides stain/wax/oil would be a sealer of some kind?

You could try "Rustin’s Danish oil". But anything you put on the sill now will make it slightly darker again.

they have varnishes that are a satin finish not as shinny or maybe tung oil but only use the oil products on the inside the outside needs varnish to protect the wood
