Ways to get candle wax stain off a door and floor?

About six months ago my puppy knocked off a melted candle and it went all over the white linoleum floor and my silver door. The wax is red and I've scrubbed and scrubbed but it won't fully come off, is there a chemical or something else I can try to get it off?

    If there is still wax there use ice to freeze it then scrape it off easily, if however it is just stained try using some bicarbonate of soda and put some vinegar on top of it. Let it froth up and wipe you should see it disappear. This also works with blackcurrant juice and red wine stains.
    I have also used it with lemonade when I did not have vinegar and it works just as good.
    I have also heard of using wd40 to spray on waxy residues that help lift and clean it. If you try using the wd40 method please let me know how you get on.
