What Can I Use To Get Out a Red Carpet Stain?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

The stain is almost 3 weeks old, caused by spilling Crystal Light Fruit Punch, and I’ve tried EVERYTHING I can think of:

Kaboom
Spot Shot
Regular Soap
and some kind of chemical I forgot the name of.

I really need to get this stain out or I won’t get my security deposit back from the apartment!

:(

Any Help Appreciated.

If your carpet is a light color you could use very diluted bleach. Also, Formula 409 works well too!

Try white wine I know that works on red wine it may work, worth a go…

Unfortunately the stain is probably permanent. Red is notoriously hard to clean out.

You could try one more thing, go to your local carpet dealer and buy their spot cleaner and try that.

See if you can match the carpet and have a carpet guy come out and cut it out and put in the patch. Of course, it will cost but is it more than your deposit? Good luck. Red is really hard to get out. Especially if it sat for a while before it was cleaned.

try Oxy Clean, desolv-it or goo gone <<these 2 will remove permanent marker, lipstick, tar, ect plus they are natural ingredients…let me know it it works I worry about it being 3 weeks old …good luck

you can make the stain "fresh" again by adding oxygen then heat to the stain
H2O2, two parts hydrogen, two parts oxygen…. otherwise known as peroxide!
(yeah, i know i am a dork, but i am a dork with three messy little kids that have made stains with everything from kool aid to poop)

pour peroxide on the stain by the cap full (it can have a bleaching effect, so don’t soak the stain, just get it good and damp.
then, using water that just came off the stove boiling, take a big gravy ladle or serving spoon or something like that and put that a big scoop of boiling hot water right on top of the peroxide.
blot up excess water, then wash the stain out…. Laundry detergent will do the best job.

Oxi powder. It will work for sure!! I had to remove a large red stain from my living room carpet (off white carpet), when i purchased my home. The stain was dried and old have no idea what it was. Oxi took it right out. Take the Oxi powder and mix it in a bucket of hot water to disolve it. Mix it up good then use a sponge or carpet brush to scrub it out. It should come right up.

I was told by professional carpet cleaners that the pigment that is used to make red is the hardest to get out. I’d call a professional, if they can’t do it forget it.
