Things NOT to use: alcohol, hair spray, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, nail polish remover. Any of these things will absolutely ruin patent leather.

What to use: WD-40™. WD-40 is normally used to lubricate doors and joints that creak but it also removes ink. You can buy WD-40 at your local hardware store.

Spray WD-40 onto a rag and wipe at the ink until the ink is gone.

It’s that simple…but (important)…test a small, inconspicuous spot before using WD-40 on your purse. I highly doubt it will hurt the patent leather, but better safe than sorry.

    Try rubbing alcohol

Try an aerosol hair spray like Aqua Net–has to be aerosol not pump. I had ball point ink all over a white bedspread and got it off with this hair spray method…. then wipe with mild soapy water, then pure water and dry the area. If you see the ink is coming off after spraying the hair spray, keep spraying and wiping until it’s all gone.

Do it ASAP. I have a good feeling about it.
