I've tried using several stain removers, yet I still have a 3 inch blue ink stain on my carpet. Does anybody have any special treatments they use to remove ink stains? I'm trying my best to keep my aprtment in good condition before I move out. =|

Try Sugar Paste: Sugar Paste, made of sugar and water, and allowed to sit for one hour, will usually remove anything!!

If sugar paste dosen't work try: One cup of Tide with two cups of White Vinegar. Scrub the stain with this solution, rinse with cold water, blot and air dry.

Purell saturate the stain, blot, repeat, the more you repeat the more the stain will fade.

You should contact a professional carpet cleaner for this problem. If you try something else and it doesn't work, you could set the stain making it impossible to be removed.

    did you try hairspray yet?
lighter fluid is radical but you could try.
if it won't come out bite your lip and call your land lord
If the carpet is brand new, and he says I have to replace the whole carpet… Remember he is insured against this.
His deductable is 500 but He will benefit by a new carpet. only offer to pay the deductible. Also this may be normal wear and tear.
I am a former Land lady. Call your County Extension Agent for a copy of the Landlord Tenant handbook.
    what does your lease say?
Maybe this problem isn't going to be a big deal to them but you need to keep a copy of that handbook anyway,
    Bummer and God Bless.

Well I can suggest Methylated Spirits , as long as the carpet is color fast Try on a piece of carpet that is hard to see, They also suggest hair spray, but this also can leave it´s own mark be-hind. I have removed ink from garment´s by using sour milk. but it leaves a smell, and you end up having to clean again. But if all fail´s you can replace this area , as you would do if you had burnt it. Remove this patch where the ink stain is with a sharp trimming knife or safety razor blade to expose the backing beneath. Cut enough matching tufts to fill the hole from a place where it will not show, or a spare piece of carpet. Dab the bottom of the hole and the ends of the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive, then insert the tufts into the hole. Leave to dry, then trim if necessary and brush to blend with the pile. Hope this has been of some help to you

There is a great product by the makers of Goo Be Gone called INKAWAY that removes ink instantly without leaving a residue or making a mystery stain. You can find it at most large discounters in the cleaning aisle.

Clorox Oxi Magic all purpose stain remover might work. Good product, removes more stains than just ink if you have kids. I just used it to get black ink out of my couch.
