You must use any product that has enzyme in it.
My husband and I had a cleaning business (cleaned display homes) and had to clean a basement where a German Shepard had used as his personal toilet. We tried mopping with ammonia; didn*t work; Tried mopping with bleach; worked for two days, then smelll came back; Finally got some enzyme from a Zep manufactuer, which did the trick. The builders sent us a thank you letter, because they were afraid they wouldn*t be able to sell the house with the awful smell.
I think there is now a product available on the market just for that purspose called UrineBGone. DO NOT USE AMMONIA ON CARPETS.

New Product Alert! It's called Urine-Be-Gone. I haven't tryed it because I have no need, but it's supposed to be really good on pet problems.

Vinegar will remove the smell. As for the stain prolly a carpet cleaning solution made for pet stains will work,pine-sol is also a great deodorizer for pet smells. :)

Nature's Miracle has worked better than any other products I have tried.
