I’ve tried oxy-clean, clorox bleach, & Mrs Stewarts liquid blue. My regular detergent is Tide HE (I have a front load washer. I use peroxide and/or zout for small, spot stains, but what is the best thing to use in a full load of white laundry to get it the whitest possible?

    Whitening Soak recipe
    1/2 cup bleach
1/4 cup dishwasher powder (such as Cascade)
    1 gallon hot water

Soak clothes for 30 minutes, then launder as usual.

If you have hard well water, this can cause the whites to discolor, might want to think of investing in a water purification system

Plain old bleach is best for cotton fabric. Let the laundry soak with the bleach a couple of house. Use a fabric softener in the final rinse after bleaching. If the fabric is synthetic, nothing will whiten it once it yellows.

Bleach with about a cup of your favorite bleach and wash with the hottest setting on your washer. Pretreat any stains prior to washing them.

    Oxy-Clean worked miracles for me.

I used to work with coal, so my socks were always filthy from the fines. Bleach made them grayish. The first time I used Oxy in the washer, they came out white like new.
