Grease being a petroleum based product is not as hard to remove as one might think. The reason is because the grease does not penetrate the fibers rather just sits on top of them. So all that being said, go to your local janitorial supplier and ask for a carpet spotter for removing grease. I work for a janitorial supplier selling cleaning chemicals and the one we carry is ProLink. Which ever brand your local supplier carries will work just fine. Be sure to follow the directions and remember like all chemicals, they have to sit for a period of time to work. It may take more than one application depending on how big your problem area is.

i know is sounds silly, but try one of the orange based hand cleaners like "fast orange" you can buy at an auto parts store, after you get the stain out, then you can shampoo the carpet…give it a try

there is a product out there called goop. it will take grease out of anything. i used to use it when working on cars and i would get grease on my clothes and hands. its safe enough to be used as a hand soap but strong enough to get grease out of clothes with out hurting them. I never got greas on my carpets but if i had I would have used this and then shampooed my carpets. Good Luck!
