    Well, I live in Quebec in Canada and we have sooooooooooooooo much salt on our roads, the asphalt is actually very light gray. The best way I’ve found to remove calcium is to use plain old white vinegar. Yep. Just use a soft rag dipped in white vinegar and rub the calcium until it’s all gone. Don’t worry… when the vinegar dries, the smell will too.

    If you want to prevent this happening in the future, you can prepare your boots by using mink oil creme on them. This will protect them and keep the calcium from eating away at your leather boots!

    Oh… vinegar also works on suede… but you’ll need to use a soft bristle toothbrush…

    Try Saddle Soap then a good layer of weatherproofing and polish.
