What is the possibility for an old blood stain on my jean trousers to be used as an evidence in the police?

I really need to know if i can use as evidence an old blood stain on a pair of jeans to support my case to the court. It happens to be more than 8 months old and i think i have washed it once but the stain remains there.

I think they will be able to use it if it is needed. Forensic science has progressed a great deal in the last few years.

If it’s still there, I’m sure they can use it, the forensics are very good at getting DNA out of almost anything.

    Ask your lawyer.

    Very likely

You can try. If it is important, try.

Blood permanently stains fibers unless cleaned with heavy chemicals. There will most definitely still be traces of blood on those jeans, especially since denim is a resilient fabric.

  8. Jean says:

Yes, you can ’cause blood is a unique sustance that is very difficult to wasj and the time passed is not that muych so yes using a proper chemical I bet you can.

    Good luck.

If your question was “Can they still pick up traces of DNA from an old blood stain,” my answer would be yes.

But as it is, you are asking “Can they use it as evidence.” Which brings up the question, “Evidence of what?” Explain the case, explain the situation, and I’ll get back to you.

They can obtain a blood sample from articles of clothing years older than your own. I would hand it over if you think its crucial evidence, but I’m unfamiliar with the exact procedure since something this exciting has never happened to me. But yes, a sample is obtainable.

*gasp* omg, YES! dude, i watch CSI miami all the time!! they can get blood off of something even after it was wiped down! you should give it over to the police!!!

  12. Doc says:

Yes, along with how it got there. You needn’t be concerned about blood types or DNA which is probably available, but only in a very serious case. As a defence item, I’m sorry, it is not as valuable, as in the hands of a prosecutor. In defence, it costs YOU to prove anything.

Do what OJ Simpson did. The jeans do not fit so they must aquit. XD

No but really. If you had gone and killed someone or something of the like, your jeans are perfect evidence. In my opinion, you should’ve burned the jeans… but yeah you’re screwed.
