What kind of laundry detergent should I use for childrens consignment clothing?

I buy some of my son’s clothing at children’s resale shops. I bring them, wash, dry & iron the clothing just to give me the peace of mind that its clean & stain free. But you just never know with what the clothing fibers have. My question is: what kind of laundry detergent is best to wash clothing like this? What steps would you take to guarantee cleaniness of this clothing?

Thank you for your answers.

If its just regular clothing, use tide 2x, you don’t use as much and it works so well. (and its eco friendly) Also, before you iron them, if you want to add a fresh smell, spray some frebeze and let it dry, then iron it the way you normally do.

you could do color safe bleach? i think they would be clean enough with regular soap though

Hot hot water, in adult soap, then a regular wash with baby soap, with a complete drying in between should suffice.

any detergent, OXI for stains…I buy my kid’s clothes in second hand stores as well and I never had a problem….wash them twice if you are picky…

It’s your choice. Woolite is used mainly for delicates. All Free Clear is a regular detergent, but it doesn’t have irritating perfumes or dyes.

Anything with bleach in it will do the job properly and completely.
