I disagree with using vinegar is not a good deodorizer, I think it makes the pet urine worse. I use a product called oda ban. http://odoban.com/index.html I use this product in my own home. I have two dogs too one is just about 2 yrs old when they go in the house you have to get rid of the urine smell or the dog will go back to the same spot. Petco has products that will take care of the stain and smell. I have read Woolite has a pet stain and odor remover that is good. I might add odaban is available at wal-mart or Sam’s club

I have used also Windex recommended by our vet when we had cats years ago. The only thing Windex can stain they do have clear Windex the ammonia in Windex will get rid of the odor too.

I use white vinegar for this. Generally I dilute it, but if the same spot has been hit several times, I would use it undiluted. Pour or spray the vinegar onto the affected areas. Then blot (do not rub) the area. Then repeat with just water. Vinegar is a great deodorizer, plus it kills the germs causing the odor. Also, since vinegar works as a natural fabric softener, it doesn’t leave the area hard, like many cleaners.

The vinegar smell disspiates as it dries.

Nature’s Miracle is a good product as well as Kids ‘N’ Pet. Both are enzyme cleaners and work VERY well. I too have a dashchund and he was tough to train with accidents here and there but, now he is wonderful and asks to go outside!! Also the vinegar is not a good cleaner for pet urine as it leaves a residual odor for them so they will go back to pee in the same place.

The only process that worked for me is BORAX
If the stain is fresh(or still wet) I pore a heaping amount of BORAX on the spot to cover it. Then I let it DRY. Then I scoop up as much as I can and vacuum the rest.
If the stain has already dried or is and old stain… I pore a little warm water on it to cover then Do the process my BORAX process.
This I have found works the best for pet stains and odors!!!!
