    My own detergent!

    powder version

1 bar soap like ivory soap grated with cheese grater or food processor
    1/2 c borax
1/2 c super washing soda – not baking soda
    * use one tbs per load

    liquid version
melt the grated bar on the stove at med heat
take off the stove mix in borax and washing soda
add to 5 gal bucket mix in with hot water from the tap
let set for 24 hours mix it again. pour into old laundry containers or just use a 1/4 measuring cup per load

I like to use Arm & Hammer. As far as I’m concerned it’s just as good as Tide only not as expensive. For stains just let some detergent soak into the stain for 12 hours then wash.

I love gain it has a great scent that lingers on clothes and the clothes look fresh and clean, it’s expensive but in my opinion it’s worth it.
