Why does bleach leave a yellowish stain on my whites?

I am trying to take off a stain but the bleach leaves a yellowish stain of its own wherever it touches the fabric. How can I take it off? I mean the stain left by the bleach?
So can the stain come off?

Yep! You can get the yellow looking out….Wash it a few more times in hot water. If that don’t do it , try this. Ritz Dye makes a fabric whitener, which works pretty good. However i had a white gauze dress, it came in contact with the hot-water heater pipe and rust was on the tail of dress. I used "Iron Out " (strong smell) I think walmart carries it, or perhaps lowes. I bought mine at my local gro.store .That dress was as white as the day i bought it. I still like to use it on my socks. Iron out is a great product, try it you’ll like it. Here is a link for ya

Because the bleach wasn"t diluted. You have to use water too. Don’t use too much of the bleach. Specially if the fabric is nylon it will get yellow.

you need to dilute the bleach. if you use straight bleach, it will discolor your clothes. there should be directions on diluting it on the side of the bottle.

If the item has any man made content such as polyester, spandex you’re pretty much stuck. Bleach should only be used on "natural" fabrics such as cotton. Anything with man made fibers should have non-chlorine bleach.

And even if it is cotton, you need to dilute the bleach with water; it’s too harsh straight!

I am not sure what these guys mean when they say to dilute the bleach but thhey are totally incorrect. I do part time at a laundromat and I had to be trained how to handle clothing. If the bleach is staining your clothes it must mean that you are using too much bleach. I recommend using about a quarter cup less or a pretty good amount less. Im afraid that once your clothing is stained WITH bleach, nothing will really take it out. I’m sorry about your clothing, though. I hope you found this helpful…

I noticed that the bleach seems to react with deoderant left behind on the armpit areas of my t shirts. The key is to use a lot less bleach and to mix it with water before pouring it into the washer.
The yellow stain does not seem to happen now that I use a front loading machine because it mixes it with water before going to the clothes and I use a lot less bleach since the machine uses less water to wash.
