Sorry to hear of your disastrous mishap! Do you have any scrap samples of this carpet? Or, try it in an inconspicuous area first. There are commercial carpet stain removers that are made specifically for dye stains. Try looking at Lowes. Also you can call the manufacturer of the blue sand sometimes they can offer great assistance. Good luck!

Oh sure the pet stain remover should work just as well on a regular stain.
I use ammonia and baking soda for bad stains. Mix together a solution of 1 gallon of water and 2 or 3 cups ammonia and 2 cups baking soda. Rub it into the stain and wait for a while to absorb and work into the stain. Then mix up a gallon of 2 cups white vinegar and water. Rub this into it and wait a little while. Then if you own a steam cleaner use the suction to pull up the cleaning solutions. Or take an old towel and step onto the area and absorb the wetness. I hope the blue stain is gone and I hope it didn’t dye your carpet. I don’t use either of these solutions up at one time but keep them handy for cleaning everything in my house and so far they’ve worked the best for me. You don’t need to waste any of it and keep them both for future uses. Best of luck and hope this will help you.

Pet spray is mostly an enzyme based cleaner to break down the smell of urine. A better option for you is Oxyclean or hydrogen peroxide. If those don’t work then dab on some rubbing alcohol.

pet stain remover usually uses an enzyme to ‘digest’ organic stains – so it will work well on many kinds of organic stains. However, it may have no effect whatsoever on an non-organic stain. Before using a commercial chemical stain remover, try soda water, it’s gentler on your health, and very effective for all kinds of stains.

    Good luck!
