Would anyone have a great way to get a rust stain out of a tan colored sweater shirt?

I have this shirt that is a tight knit sweater and somehow, someway I got a rust stain on it. It's small but I'm afraid to put bleach on it because it will put a white spot on my tan/earth colored shirt. Not to mention eat away at the threads and eventually cause a hole. Does anyone have any good old home remedies?

Try making a paste out of Bar Keepers Friend and a little water and rinse with cool water. Launder as usual. (If the lemon juice doesn't work first.) Of course, spot test an inconspicuous area first. BKF contains oxalic acid and removes rust on most anything. I've used it on berber carpet to remove rust. I hope that this helps!

try lemon juice. it is great for getting rid of rust anywhere. but i would test the juice on a hidden inseam of your fabric first just to be safe. try the back of the neck line. use real lemon juice from a lemon.
